The Landing Submitted for Planning

Working alongside developer HUB and landowner Smedvig, our designs for the mixed use scheme will help transform the future of Maidenhead, establishing a positive street experience and revealing at its heart a new Garden Square.

The design follows a wide-ranging programme of public engagement and consultation, and will provide employment opportunities and new community facilities. Carefully designed homes provide a chance to live within the town centre while taking advantage of the soon to open Crossrail link from the nearby Maidenhead station.

The residential element has developed around a key theme of maximising the quality of life; wherever possible, the homes provide dual aspect frontages, with accommodation designed to maximise orientation and daylight.

Local artist Kirsty Brooks has worked with the design team to ensure the buildings feel rooted in the rich history of the town through material and colour choices and specific art works. Over 27,000sqft of communal space has also been provided, with outdoor seating areas and rich landscape that is characterised by unique tree species and verdant planting.

Studio Egret West are the architects, urban designers and landscape architects for The Landing. A full planning application has been submitted for the first stage of the project (made up of four buildings - 3 residential and 1 office) with an outline application for phase two (which includes two more buildings.)
