SEW Successful in Barking

LB Barking and Dagenham
Planning permission

Our elegant and unusual cluster of buildings adjacent to Barking Station in London received overwhelming support from the planning committee this week as they resolved to grant planning permission. It is the first major application to be approved as part of the newly designated Barking and Dagenham Housing Zones which will be transforming the area around Barking Station.

The building is on an awkward linear site adjacent to the railway lines, and the soft curved forms helped overcome the hurdles that had failed the two previous applications. The scheme includes a new community space to be run by the local council with 274 new homes, alongside new and improved local public spaces and contemporary leisure facilities.
