AJ Architecture Awards 2018

Caxton Works has been shortlisted for the Mixed-use Project of the Year in the AJ Architecture Awards 2018.

Now in their second year, the AJ Architecture Awards recognise excellence in UK architecture across a range of categories, from School project of the Year to Housing project of the Year. All shortlisted projects are visited by a judging panel, with the winner’s announced at a celebratory dinner at the Roundhouse on 4 December.

Located on a previously industrial site in Canning Town, Caxton Works combines dwellings with light industrial uses; 336 homes are arranged above light industrial spaces which are designed to attract businesses in need of affordable work space. The scheme embraces densification whilst creating an authentic identity that is a defined by the symbiosis of previously conflicting uses, helping to define the area between Canning Town centre and the docks as a successful and innovative employment-led mixed-use neighbourhood.
